Different Between Partition for Root Directory and Partition for Virtual Memory



Partition for root directory

1. Normal linux system data, including the root partition containing all the data to start up and run the system
2. The directory on Unix-like operating system that contains all others directories.
3. Contains files on the system and which designated by a forward slash (/).



Partition for virtual memory

1. Expansion of the computer’s physical memory, extra memory on hard disk.
2. Don’t have others directories. Only have extra memory on hard disk.
3. Contains files on the system but its just a temporary files only.
